It’s been six months since we lost the legendary Radio 1 & 2 DJ Steve Wright who I had worked with the four years. I was at Radio 1 when Steve arrived and I was the one who showed him around the studios. I was also an afternoon boy, they were fun days.

Everything you’ve heard and read about Steve being dedicated to radio all of his adult life and the hours of work he put in are all absolutely true. He would show up at around 9am for a 2pm show and he would still be in Broadcasting House at 7.30/8pm preparing for the next day.

Steve would have been 70 this week, let’s enjoy one of his radio shows from 1985.
