In a current chart climate where the music industry big-up new albums for them to enter the chart high and sink, almost without trace, the following week, it feels very much like the singles chart of the 1990s and early 2000s. Unless you’re a big named star, it’s hard to spend more than a handful of weeks on the album chart.
Very recently we witnessed the 13th artist album to enter the chart at number one and completely disappear the following week, hence there were so many one week number one albums. You’ll notice that all bar one are from the 2020s decade, now I wonder why?
