It was 10 years ago this week that Louise Lopez from Odyssey passed away.
They formed in the mid-70s as the Lopez Sisters, three of them, Louise, Lillian and Carmen but Carmen left about a year before the band became famous, she was replaced by the Filipino bassist and singer Tony Reynolds, but he left after the first album and was replaced with Bill McEachern. Louise was born in 1933 but her age was concealed during their heyday as she was already 44 when they their first hit, Native New Yorker hit the UK chart at the end of 1977.
Louise had an exquisite voice best showcased on this 1980 top 10 hit.
