Rob Davis, as he was born, or Jasper Carrott as we know him is 80 this week.

Born in Birmingham, he is a very versatile comedian, actor and singer. He scored a top five hit in 1975 with the double A-sided hit The Funky Moped and Magic Roundabout. as an actor he appeared in the sitcom The Detectives and, as a TV presenter, he hosted the game show Golden Balls for two years between 2007 and 2009.

In 2023, Carrott played the role of Sykesy in The Archers on the Radio 4 radio drama.
